Coventry Rugby and the Coventry Rugby Community Foundation are looking to appoint a Community Manager to lead the delivery of the Foundation's programmes across the city and the wider region.
Coventry Rugby occupies an important role in the local community, working hand-in-glove with the nationally registered charity, Coventry Rugby Foundation Ltd, to deliver sports-related activities designed to improve the lives of local children and young people. The club has a firm belief in the power of sport to promote mental and physical wellbeing and to shape the values of the next generation of adults - and through this work, we also aim to promote the reputation and good name of this historic rugby club.
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) offering a competitive salary based on experience.
About the Role
The Community Manager will:
Proactively manage and oversee the delivery of all Foundation-funded programmes.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders including the Coventry Rugby Community and Management Teams, regional schools, community rugby clubs, major donors such as Coventry City Council, and Foundation Trustees.
Create and communicate clear metrics to monitor programme delivery, maintaining full evidential records.
Identify opportunities to grow the awareness and impact of the Foundation's work in the local community.
Ensure compliance with Charity Commission regulations, governance standards and safeguarding requirements.
Support the growth of Foundation income, working alongside bid writers to target new and existing funding sources.
Oversee the delivery of rugby coaching programmes in local schools, building lasting relationships that help grow the game in state schools.
Build strong relationships with local community rugby clubs for mutual benefit.
Oversee pre-match community activation at all home games.
Provide regular updates to the Board of Trustees and act as the credible face and voice of the Foundation.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a proactive, organised and community-focused leader who can independently manage multiple programmes while building trusted relationships across schools, rugby clubs, trustees, local government and funders. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable analysing programme performance, ensuring governance and safeguarding compliance, supporting funding applications and representing the Foundation publicly.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working in the community, can inspire others through coaching and partnership working, and is willing to work flexibly around school programmes and rugby fixtures, including evenings and weekends.
