Coventry Rugby are delighted to confirm that fly-half Josh Thomas has re-signed with the club for the 2026/27 campaign.
Thomas will continue in blue and white after an impressive first season at the Nick Newbold Stadium, having joined the club ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The experienced playmaker has quickly become a key figure in Coventry’s backline, making 17 appearances and accumulating 136 points so far. His tally includes 10 penalties, 45 conversions and three tries, underlining his importance both as a goal-kicker and attacking threat.
Known for his composure, game management and ability to control matches, Thomas made an immediate impact after arriving at the club, helping guide the team throughout the season with his experience and quality.
Speaking after agreeing his new deal, Thomas expressed his excitement about continuing his journey with Coventry.
“I’ve loved my first season here at Cov and I’m delighted to be staying for another year. We’ve built something really positive within the group and I’m excited to see how far we can go next season.
“I can’t wait to get back out there and play in front of our fantastic supporters again.”
Head Coach Alex Rae believes Thomas will continue to play a major role for Coventry moving forward.
“Delighted to have Josh with us again. We’ve seen what a classy player he is and what he brings to the team when he plays.
“He fitted in really well and will come into his second season even more confident and ready to push on again.”
