The opportunity provides both players with the chance to test themselves in a senior environment as Coventry begin their preparations for the 2026/27 season.

The trip to North Wales represents a return to familiar opposition for Coventry, who faced RGC during last year's pre-season programme, running out 59–31 winners at the Nick Newbold Stadium.

However, Saturday's encounter presents a different challenge, with RGC themselves using the fixture as the final test of their own preparations for the 2026/27 Super Rygbi Cymru campaign. The North Wales side have already faced Chester and Leeds Tykes during pre-season.

For Coventry, the focus will be on building combinations, getting valuable minutes into the squad and putting the foundations in place for the season ahead.

The first pre-season outing also begins an exciting fortnight for the Blue-and-Whites, who return to Coventry next Friday evening to welcome Ospreys to the Nick Newbold Stadium in the club's first-ever meeting with the Welsh region.
