Shine Re-Signs for 2026/27 Season
Coventry Rugby are delighted to confirm that second row Jack Shine has re-signed with the club for the 2026/27 season.
Coventry Rugby are delighted to confirm that second row Jack Shine has re-signed with the club for the 2026/27 season.
Shine will continue in blue and white after an impressive first campaign at the Nick Newbold Stadium, having joined the club ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Since arriving in Coventry, the powerful lock has made 23 appearances and scored three tries, quickly establishing himself as an important member of Alex Rae's forward pack. Standing out for his physicality, work rate and presence around the field, Shine enjoyed an excellent debut season while continuing to develop his all-round game.
Speaking after committing his future to the club, Shine said the decision to remain at Coventry was an easy one.
“Absolutely thrilled to have re-signed for another year with Coventry.
“The character of the group of lads we have here is the best I’ve ever been a part of and it makes it an absolute blast to come into training every day.
“On top of that, I developed more as a player last year under the coaching of Razor, Bodes and Gordon than I have in any season of my career to this point, and I’m excited to see how far I can push with another year of work.
“Those two factors made it an easy decision to re-sign. I can’t wait to get started!”
Head Coach Alex Rae believes there is still plenty more to come from the talented second row.
“It’s great to have Jack with us again. He’s a big, physical lock with a huge amount of potential still.
“He’s hungry to keep pushing himself and improve day to day, and we’ve no doubt that will happen.”
Shine's re-signing is another significant boost for Coventry ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with the club retaining another key member of its forward pack as preparations continue for the new season.
