Salt Re-Signs for 2026/27 Season

Coventry Rugby are delighted to confirm that Eliot Salt has re-signed with the club for the 2026/27 season.

Coventry Rugby are delighted to confirm that Eliot Salt has re-signed with the club for the 2026/27 season.

The prop forward will continue his journey in blue and white after making 69 appearances and scoring four tries since arriving at the Nick Newbold Stadium. Over that time, Salt has developed into an increasingly important member of Coventry’s forward pack, establishing himself as a reliable presence in both the set-piece and around the field.

Still developing his game in one of rugby’s most demanding positions, Salt enjoyed a particularly strong 2025/26 campaign, with his progress at scrum time reflecting the hard work put in behind the scenes alongside the coaching staff.

Head Coach Alex Rae believes the season marked an important step forward in the front-rower's development.

“This was the season where things started to click around the scrum. Like any young prop, it takes time in the saddle. We’re really happy with his progression and confident he’ll continue that upward trajectory.

“He’s nowhere near the finished product. He knows what he needs to do to get to that next level, so it’s going to be down to him now to keep pushing himself with the support of the coaches.”

Eliot Salt:
"Delighted to re-sign for Cov, it was a no-brainer for me to keep doing what I love at the club that’s given me opportunity to grow as a player over the last 3 years. We’re going in the right direction as a squad and you can see that from our performances over the last 12 months, it’s an exciting time to be a Cov player."

Salt’s re-signing is another positive boost for Coventry ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, as the club continues to retain and develop a talented core of players capable of driving the team forward in the seasons ahead.
