Quarter-Final Awaits as Coventry Host Hartpury
Coventry Rugby have named their side for Saturday’s home quarter-final against Hartpury in the Champ Rugby Playoffs at the Nick Newbold Stadium (4pm kick-off).
After securing a top-six finish during the regular season, the Blue-and-Whites now turn their attention to knockout rugby as they look to continue their impressive campaign in front of a home crowd.
Jordon Poole captains Coventry from hooker and is joined in the front row by Aristot Benz-Salomon and Matt Johnson. Jack Shine comes into the second row alongside Mackenzie Graham, while Allan Ferrie, Tom Ball and Morgan Strong make up the back row.
A half-back pairing for the playoff clash, of Sam Maunder starting at scrum-half alongside Tommy Mathews at fly-half.
In the backline, Jack Reeves and David Opoku-Fordjour are selected on the wings, with Api Bavadra and Oli Morris continuing their midfield partnership. Tom Bacon starts at full-back.
Coventry opt for a strong bench for the knockout fixture, with Josh Barton and Josh Thomas among the backs replacements, while Dan Green and Sam Harding provide forward reinforcements.
Supporters are encouraged to arrive early and create a big-match atmosphere at the Nick Newbold Stadium as Coventry bid to book their place in the playoff semi-finals.
