Coventry Rugby are delighted to confirm that Sam Maunder has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Since joining the club permanently at the end of the 2024/25 season, Maunder has become an integral part of the squad, making 37 appearances and scoring eight tries in blue and white.
The scrum-half’s consistency, leadership and high standards have made him a key figure both on and off the field, with his influence continuing to grow across the squad. Known for his sharp game management and competitive edge, Maunder has played a major role in Coventry’s progress over the past two seasons.
Head Coach Alex Rae welcomed the news of Maunder’s extension and praised the standards he brings to the environment.
“It’s great to have Sam with us again. He sets really high standards for the team and himself and they’re the kind of people we want. We have no doubt he will take his game to another level next season, which is exciting.”
Sam Maunder:
"I'm chuffed that I'm going to playing another season with Coventry. I owe a lot to the coaches, playing group and the fans for giving me my love of rugby back. Looking forward to seeing what this group can achieve this year and next."
Maunder’s re-signing is another important piece of Coventry’s preparations for the 2026/27 season, as the club continues to retain experienced and influential members of the squad ahead of the new campaign.
