Coventry Rugby can confirm that tighthead prop Eliot Salt will be joining Prem Rugby side Gloucester Rugby ahead of the 2026/27 season, in a move that represents another success story for the club's player pathway.

Since signing for Coventry in 2023 from the Cardiff Met University system, Eliot has become a mainstay of the front row, making 69 appearances for the club and crossing the whitewash on four occasions. His development over the past three seasons has been a key part of the squad's progress, and this move to Gloucester is thoroughly deserved recognition of his hard work and consistent performances.

A re-signing announcement for Eliot was made earlier this summer, however the opportunity for him to join Gloucester arose during the off-season. That the club was able to facilitate this move is testament to the strength of Coventry Rugby's development pathway, and its ability to continue producing players capable of progressing to Prem Rugby.

Head Coach Alex Rae said:

"It's obviously sad to see Eliot moving on but it's a fantastic opportunity for him to test himself in the Premiership and we wish him well in the future. It also shows what a fantastic job everyone at the club is doing in developing players and giving them a platform to shine. We're into double figures now of players in my time here who have gone onto the next level of the game."

Eliot Salt added:

"I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to make the step up to the Prem. Obviously none of this would've been possible without the support of the club and the environment I've been in for the last three years so I want to say a huge thank you to the coaches and my teammates. I want to say a big thank you to the fans as well, they've got us over the line a few times in tight games and I'll miss their unwavering support."

Everyone at Coventry Rugby wishes Eliot the very best of luck for the next stage of his career at Gloucester.

Coventry Rugby has signed a new tighthead prop to strengthen the squad ahead of next season. With international visa clearance still pending, his identity will be announced in due course.
