Davidson will continue in blue and white after an outstanding first season in professional rugby, having joined Coventry ahead of the 2025/26 campaign following his selection through the inaugural Professional Rugby Combine.

His journey to the Champ is an inspiring one. Having never previously played professional rugby, Davidson seized the opportunity presented by the Combine and has gone on to establish himself as a valued member of Alex Rae's squad. His story is a testament to perseverance, proving that with hard work and determination, opportunities can still arise.

In his debut professional season, Davidson made 21 appearances and scored four tries, quickly adapting to life in the Champ and showcasing his athleticism, physicality and appetite for improvement.

Speaking after signing his new deal, Davidson is excited to continue his journey at the Nick Newbold Stadium.

“I’m very excited to be signing for Cov for another year. I have to thank the coaches for giving me the opportunity.

“I know this group has got what it takes to go one step further this year. I can’t wait to get going again.”

Head Coach Alex Rae believes Davidson's first professional season is just the beginning.

“Murray’s story is a great one, having been picked up through the Combine. He’s done so well this season in his first season as a pro.

“He’s got some fantastic attributes and now he’s becoming more confident, we think he can really look to push and fight for that number two shirt.”
