Hunt joins the Blue and Whites after establishing himself as one of Hartpury's most consistent front-row players in the Champ.

The 24-year-old arrives at the Nick Newbold Stadium having amassed 71 Champ Rugby appearances, including 24 during the 2025/26 campaign. Coventry supporters may be familiar with Hunt, having faced him twice this season, including in the Champ Rugby quarter-finals between Coventry and Hartpury.

Standing at 6ft 1in (185cm) and weighing 107kg, Hunt developed through the renowned Hartpury College and Hartpury University system before progressing into senior rugby. A spell within the Gloucester setup followed before he returned to Hartpury RFC, where he became a regular fixture in the Champ.

Known for his physical edge and relentless work rate, Hunt has built a reputation as a combative hooker who thrives in the tight exchanges while also offering plenty around the field.

Speaking after agreeing his move to Coventry, Hunt is eager to get started.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Coventry Rugby! The ambition throughout the club and style of play made it a no-brainer!

“I look forward to getting stuck in, playing in front of the supporters and seeing what we can achieve in 2026/27!”

Head Coach Alex Rae believes Hunt's best rugby is still ahead of him.

“Ethan has always stood out as an abrasive, physical hooker whenever we've come up against him. We think there's even more to his game and that's going to really come out once he's with us.

“He's a player with plenty of Champ experience already, but we believe there's another level he can get to and we're excited to help him reach it.”

Hunt becomes the latest addition to Coventry's squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, strengthening the club's front-row options with a player who combines experience, physicality and significant potential for further growth.
