The highly-rated outside back joins the Blue and Whites after impressing through both the university and Champ Rugby pathways, arriving at the Nick Newbold Stadium as one of the most exciting young talents in the English game.

Standing at 6ft 2in and weighing 100kg, Garrett possesses an impressive combination of size, athleticism and skill. The 21-year-old developed through Denstone College before progressing into the Leicester Tigers Academy setup. He later represented the University of Nottingham and Nottingham RFC, where his performances earned opportunities at Champ level.

Despite his young age, Garrett has already made five Champ appearances and now takes the next step in his career with Coventry.

His rapid development was recognised earlier this year when he was selected for the England Rugby Universities squad for the annual fixture against France, a testament to the outstanding form he showed throughout the season. Garrett's performances for the University of Nottingham and in Champ Rugby saw him emerge as one of the standout young wingers in the university game.

Known for his aerial ability, attacking instincts and natural flair with ball in hand, Garrett has built a reputation as a player capable of producing moments of brilliance. His ability to beat defenders, create opportunities and keep attacks alive through his offloading game made him a standout target for Coventry's coaching staff.

Head Coach Alex Rae is excited by the potential Garrett brings to the squad.

“As soon as I watched Alex’s BUCS games, I was really excited. Then watching him perform in the Championship, nothing changed, which was really exciting.

“He has fantastic aerial skills and a natural ability to beat people and offload, which is what we really liked.”

Garrett is eager to get started in blue and white and is looking forward to becoming part of the Coventry environment.

“I can’t wait until we start in July. I can’t wait to meet the boys and play the joué type of rugby that made me sign here.”

Garrett becomes the latest addition to Coventry’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, adding further youth, athleticism and attacking quality to an already exciting backline.
