Coventry Rugby are delighted to confirm that full back Tom Bacon has re-signed with the club for the 2026/27 season.
Bacon will continue in blue and white at the Nick Newbold Stadium after an impressive debut campaign, having made 23 appearances since arriving at the start of the season and crossing for five tries. His consistency and impact have quickly established him as a key figure in Coventry’s back line.
Renowned for his aerial ability and attacking threat in open play, Bacon has added a real edge to Coventry’s game. His confidence under the high ball, combined with his willingness to counter-attack, has made him a dangerous outlet and a dependable presence at the back.
Head Coach Alex Rae welcomed the news, highlighting both Bacon’s performances and his influence within the squad.
“Its fantastic news Tom’s with us again next year, he’s become a really popular member of the squad. His performances have been really consistent and he brings some X-factor to our back line. We’re excited to help push him further and see how he continues to grow.”
Bacon is equally enthusiastic about what lies ahead, with the squad continuing to build momentum.
“Excited to see what we can achieve next year with such a competitive group. Up the Cov!”
With Bacon committed for another season, Coventry continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, retaining one of their standout performers as they look to build on a promising season.
