We are the Champions(hips)!

Take a look at our fantasy Six Nations team selection ahead of the first round on Saturday. Our team selection highlights the importance of the second tier of English Rugby for the role of development, as all of our players selected have played in the Championship League (or equivalent) one way or another.

We are streaming each round of the Six Nations in the Millerchip suite at Butts Park Arena. The event is free to attend. There will be food available on the day, however, to avoid disappointment, we recommend pre-booking here.

Coventry Rugby's fantasy Six Nations squad:

England

Henry Slade: Having signed to Exeter Chiefs not long after they were promoted into the Premiership, Slade made 11 appearances in the Championship league for Plymouth Albion in the 2011/12 season. On a dual-registration deal, the Championship allowed him the game time he may not have got and went on to establish himself as their first-choice fly-half. To date, Slade has been capped 41 times for England.

Harry Randall: At 17 years old, Randall joined the Hartpury University college. During his time at Hartpury, he won both AASE and BUCS Super Rugby winners' medals. Randall then joined Gloucester Rugby's Academy but never made a senior appearance for the club. Randall gained Championship experience with Hartpury this season and was one of their star players when they met Bristol on the opening day on the 2017-18 season, clearly catching the eye of Bristol head coach Pat Lam, who he signed for the following season when the Bears returned to the Premiereship. Randall has 2 caps for England's senior squad to date.

Lewis Ludlam: Having joined Northampton Saints senior academy in 2013, Ludlam spent short periods of his senior career on dual registation with the one and only Coventry Rugby, Moseley and Rotherham Titams. Breaking into Saints' first-team squad in the 2016/17 campaign - in which he made his first-team debut in the Anglo-Welsh Cup opener that season. Ludlam has gone on to feature 10 times for England's senior squad to date.
