Coventry director of rugby Rowland Winter spoke to BBC C&W’s Alec Blackman after the match:

“The boys are gutted, we've worked so hard to get close to that first away win.

"Today we came with the ambition to play, and a few things didn't go our way with injuries that forced us to make early changes.

"Bedford are an outstanding side and to push them this close is brilliant, but we just can't expect to concede 50-odd points and win."
