Biography
The 21-year-old was a member of Gwernyfed RFC before plying his trade in the Cardiff academy. Anstey made his first appearance for the Cardiff squad in the 2021/22 season in a pre-season friendly against Harlequins. Over the next two seasons with the team, Anstey made over 30 appearances which included his competitive debut in the Heineken Champions Cup against Toulouse in the 2021/22 season.
Following his time in the Welsh capital, Rhys moved to the English Championship side, Ealing Trailfinders in February 2023. During his spell with the side, Anstey went on loan to Richmond and made his debut for the side on 25th March 2023 against Jersey Reds. Anstey played four games for Richmond.
