Coventry Rugby has announced its squad for the fifth fixture of the 2022/23 Championship campaign, against London Scottish on Saturday 8th October.
Following last week’s tough test against Ealing, Alex Rae’s 23-man squad will be looking to bounce back against the ‘Exiles’, as they travel to the Richmond Athletic Ground.
Toby Trinder captains the side again this week, in the absence of the injured Jordon Poole, and is joined in the front row by Suva Ma’asi and Harry Seward. George Smith and James Tyas both start in a familiar- looking second row.
Josh Bainbridge returns at blindside flanker, in an otherwise unchanged back row from the Ealing game, with Fred Betteridge (6) and your CTT Player of the Month for September, Senitiki Nayalo (8) filling out the rest of the pack.
Will Lane and Pat Pellegrini have been given the nod this week at scrum-half and fly-half respectively, and will be looking to rekindle their partnership from earlier in the season.
In the midfield, George Worboys, on-loan from Bath, makes his debut at inside-centre and is joined by Will Rigg at 13. James Martin (11), Will Talbot-Davies (14) and Louis Brown (15) make up an exciting backfield trio.
Ollie Stone, Ollie Andrews and Jake Bridges will be waiting in the wings to bring additional power to the front row, with Frankie Read and Tom Ball concluding the forward replacements.
Fin Ogden will be looking to make an impact off the bench at 9, whilst Ollie Betteridge and Shea Cornish, who returns from his 2-game suspension, will provide cover in the centres and the back-three respectively.
