Coventry Rugby has announced its squad for the upcoming fixture against Bedford Blues on Saturday 11th February, as we continue our 2022/23 Championship Cup campaign.
Following last week’s huge victory at home against the Doncaster Knights, Alex Rae has made a few tweaks to a squad that bears a very similar feel to that of a week ago.
In the front row Jamie Jack, on loan from Edinburgh Rugby, makes his second appearance for the club, and is accompanied by Suva Ma’asi and academy graduate, Jake Bridges.
James Tyas returns to the team and the second row and will pack down next to George Smith in the engine room, in what is a pairing with real contrasting levels of experience.
Tom Ball captains the XV once more from openside flanker and is joined by Adam Peters who shifts from his usual position of second row to the flank, with Senitiki Nayalo returning to the number 8 jersey in what will be his 51st game in blue and white.
Will Lane links up with Evan Mitchell again in an exciting halfback pairing that got the job done last weekend, whilst Lucas Titherington partners Will Rigg in the midfield.
The starting XV is rounded out by the same electric backfield trio of Louis James, Shea Cornish, and Tobi Wilson who scored on debut last week.
Former Bedford man – Will Biggs will be joined by Toby Trinder and new Gloucester loanee, Henry Pearson on standby to add their strength to the front row.
Joe Snow continues his return from injury to provide cover at 9 alongside Fin Ogden, whilst Will Wand and James Martin will provide support across the rest of the back line.
