On Sunday the 27th Of August Dunlop RFC and Coventry Welsh RFC held a memorial fundraising Rugby Match for Jack Garton who sadly passed away earlier in the year Aged 22. All the money raised was for the Coventry Rugby Community Foundation (Wheelchair Rugby Team).
Jack was loving , kind hearted and hardworking and touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was known as the gentle giant.
Jack played at Barker Butts RFC as a young lad before joining Dunlop RFC as Colt which later led him to playing as senior. Jack then joined Coventry Welsh RFC where he carried on playing as a senior. Jack was a dedicated, committed and was a role model for the game on and off the pitch. And was known by most Rugby teams around the City.
After the success of the memorial game this will now be an annual event in Jack’s memory and we welcome anyone who would like to play. Details will be posted and shared early next year.
Thank you to everyone who got involved and thank you to Jacks family (Darren, Sarah, Loz, James and Aaliyah) it was an honour.
