Blue and White duo Sam McNulty and James Neal played their part in securing a place at Twickenham in the Bill Beaumont County Championship whilst representing Warwickshire on Saturday.
Both Neal and McNulty found the whitewash during the first-half of their match against beating Hampshire 31-24 at Rugby Lions’ Webb Ellis Road.
Warwickshire will now face Durham in the final on Sunday, May 27 after England have take on the Barbarians at HQ.
First half scores from Neal and McNulty, and seven points from the boot of Newbold’s Dan O’Brien saw the sides go in at the interval level-pegging at 17-17 after Jacob Knight and George Primett found their way over for the visitors.
Broadstreet club mates James Moreton and Nyle Beckett grabbed two more tries for Warwickshire after half-time to seal a place at Twickenham.
Warwickshire could have had a dream finale at Twickenham against Leicestershire but Durham pipped their midland rivals to a spot at HQ.
The Red and White’s won all three of their Bill Beaumont Division 2 Pool 2 matches after wins over Somerset and North Midlands, which set up a ‘winner takes all’ match against Hampshire.
