Director of rugby Rowland Winter spoke to BBC C&W’s Alec Blackman after the match:
“Credit to London Irish they had a fully stacked team today, much changed from the cup quarter-final a couple of weeks ago.
“They were well worthy of the win, the depth and quality of their side and the way they clinically finished off every opportunity they got was the difference between the sides.
“In the first half we created plenty of opportunities but weren’t clinical enough, and our lineout failed two or three times when we had opportunities.
“Credit to the boys to come back and to get three tries, it’s a bit disappointing we didn’t get the fourth but there’s plenty of positives there for me.”
