Coventry Rugby confirm that Junior and Andy Bulumakau’s stay at the Butts Park Arena has been extended on a long-term basis.
The Fijian-born pair arrived in the Midlands from Doncaster Knights prior to the start of the current season.
Both have since become important members of the Blue-and-White squad, putting in a number of eye-catching performances to help Cov re-establish themselves in the Greene King IPA Championship.
Flying winger Junior, aged 28, is a Scotland sevens international who enjoyed a spell with Glasgow Warriors prior to joining Doncaster.
As a serving member of the British Army he has featured three times in the prestigious annual Army-Navy clash at Twickenham, twice being selected as man-of-the-match.
Junior has made 17 Coventry appearances during which he has claimed five tries.
Andy, who is two years younger than his brother, began his career in Gloucester’s academy before moving north to link up with the Knights where he scored 19 tries in 63 appearances over four seasons.
As a talented outside centre who is also able to play on the wing, Andy has scored twice for Cov during his 13 appearances for the club.
Speaking on behalf of the pair, older brother Junior said:
“We are both really enjoying our time at Coventry and are excited about being part of the journey the club is on.
“We have settled well and feel very much part of the club. We both feel we have lots more to show the great Coventry crowd.”
Coventry director of rugby Rowland Winter said:
“We expect both players to be part of the club for the long term, and are therefore very pleased that they have extended their contracts with us.
“They have both demonstrated what great attacking talents they are during the course of this season.
“They have been great additions to the squad. They are both very vocal both on and off the pitch and have become part of the Coventry family so we’re delighted they have put some roots down here to be part of the journey the club is on.”
