Coventry Rugby have been given their challenges ahead of long-awaited return to the GK IPA Championship alongside the newly formatted Championship Cup fixtures for the 2018/19 season.
Upon the Blue and White’s return to the second tier, Jersey Reds will be the first to visit Butts Park Arena in the opening test of the new season.
After the conclusion of the British and Irish Cup last season, a new formatted cup tournament has been brought into place.
The Championship Cup will consist three pools of four teams, each playing six matches, three at home and away against the contestants in their respective pools.
This leads into a knock-out stage, with the quarter-final and semi-final being played in February 2019, and the final commencing on the first weekend of May, 2019.
Rowland Winter and his coaching team have been eagerly anticipating this fixture list and have been pleased overall with the outcome.
The Blue and White’s will end their season with an exciting away trip to Jersey Reds in the return fixture, which will bring an end to what should be a successful and thrilling ride in the second tier.
