Senior academy player, George Hallam, made his senior international debut for Switzerland on the weekend, beating Sweden 69-12 on Saturday, 5th November.
The 19-year-old back rower took to the Malmo Stadium turf in Sweden in what was his first senior run-out for the national team and managed the perfect debut. The youngster not only ticked off ‘first senior international appearance’ from his to-do list, but also managed a first international try and ‘Player of The Match’ award.
George began his playing days at the mere age of 4 years old, playing for Market Harborough Rugby Club, before continuing his development at Kibworth School in Leicestershire.
“It was great to make my international debut for Switzerland, and to get the win really topped off the occasion. However, I’m excited to get back to Butts Park, get my head down and keep improving.”
The young flanker joined the Senior Academy here at Butts Park Arena at the start of this season and has been impressing so far in training. Everyone at Coventry Rugby would like to congratulate George on this terrific achievement, and we hope there are plenty more international caps to come.
