Coventry Rugby is thrilled to announce the signing of fullback Tobi Wilson, who joins the club with immediate effect.
Tobi played his formative club rugby for Newport in Shropshire, before progressing into the Senior Academy at Worcester Warriors. During that time, he featured for England’s under-18s development training squad, and was a regular for Warriors’ 18s.
“I’m buzzing that Coventry has given me this opportunity, all the lads have been extremely welcoming from the off and it already feels like a new home”, Wilson said after his first few days at Butts Park Arena.
Wilson’s first competitive appearance for Worcester came at the end of 2021 against Gloucester, and, more recently, the fullback has been plying his trade for Birmingham Moseley in National League 1.
Alex Rae is excited to see what the youngster can achieve in Blue and White;
“Tobi came and trained with us, and often as it is in the rugby world, it’s sometimes right place right time and taking an opportunity… which Tobi did.
He’s an exiting young player with a great skill set, he’s fitted in really well and we look forward to giving him a platform to grow as a person and a player.”
Everyone at Coventry Rugby would like to wish Tobi a very warm welcome to Butts Park, and we look forward to seeing him out on the pitch very soon.
