Coventry Rugby is pleased to announce the signing of 24-year-old, back row, Tom Dodd from Worcester Warriors.
Coventry Rugby Head Coach, Alex Rae is looking forward to welcoming Dodd to Butts Park: “It will be fantastic to welcome Tom to the club, he’s been starting in the premiership and everyone I have spoken to has said what a fantastic bloke he is and how hard he works for the team. He’s the exact kind of player we want to come in. He’s a big, physical, hardworking, ball carrying player who’s really going to add to competition in the back row.”
Dodd joined the Warriors Academy ahead of the 2016/17 season. The former Scotland U20 made his Warriors first-team debut in an Anglo-Welsh Cup clash against Sale Sharks at Sixways in November 2017, before going on to amass 30 appearances for the Warriors.
Dodd signed his first senior contract in January 2020 and signed a one-year extension in June 2022. Dodd also spent time with Luctonians RFC during the 2016/17 season on dual registration, before playing for Birmingham Moseley and Stourbridge RFC in 2017/18.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Coventry for giving me an opportunity to continue pursuing rugby for the rest of this season after what’s been a tough couple of months at Worcester. I’m looking forward to getting involved and working hard for the team!” – Tom Dodd.
