The Coventry Rugby Regional Academy and Coventry Netball would like to invite all current Year 11 players in Coventry and the surrounding area to our Open Afternoon in October Half Term.
Open Afternoon, Tuesday 29th of October 2024, 15:00 – 17:00 at The Butts Park Arena, Butts Rd, Coventry, CV1 3GE.
The afternoon will involve presentations from both our Educational Partner and our programmes Netball and Rugby staff. Any prospective student athletes who attend this event will receive insight into our provision, academic course offering and timetable as well as a chance to take part in a taster session delivered by our coaching teams.
Coventry Rugby in partnership with The Futures Trust run a full time educational pathway which is designed to give aspirational Rugby and Netball players in the local community the opportunity to excel in the classroom and in sport.
Students are enrolled full time on either A level or BTEC qualifications across a varying and diverse course offering and benefit from our provision being built into their academic timetable.
From a purely rugby perspective, the aim of the programme is to provide a pathway into the Coventry Rugby Regional Academy and fits in and supports schedules of boys who are already in an academy system and those that aspire to get into it. In addition to those that are part of our club’s U18 Academy Programme and those that get signed professionally to represent the club’s senior side – Our 16-18 Educational Programme caters for all next steps be that; professional rugby, club rugby, university, the armed forces and/or apprenticeships.
In terms of our Netball provision you will have a unique opportunity to engage with weekly professional Netball coaching, a comprehensive fixture programme, strength and conditioning programming, nutritional workshops and video analysis and links with Birmingham Panthers.
Our rugby programme is ran exclusively by Coventry Rugby staff and our offering includes a weekly schedule of rugby training (team, unit and individual), team meetings, strength and conditioning, game review, video analysis and a comprehensive fixture list – All delivered at The Butts Park Arena.
