Club Statement: COVID-19 Update

Due to a Covid-19 outbreak within the Coventry Rugby Department and after regular communication with the RFU (Rugby Football Union), the decision has been made to close the Players training facility at The Butts Park Arena until the 10^th January 2022

During this time we will be working to ensure the Rugby department meets the highest standard of Covid-19 prevention for when players return . As the Rugby Department operates within its own closed bubble the Stadium and all non-rugby operations shall continue to operate as normal.

We at Coventry can therefore confirm that our scheduled 2021/22 Round 14 Championship Rugby game away to Richmond on the 2^nd January 2022 has been postponed. The decision to postpone the fixture has been taken by the Rugby Football Union after thorough communications between both ourselves and Richmond after the reported positive cases within the Coventry playing squad.

The decision follows the detailed medical protocols in place to ensure that the health and wellbeing of all players and support staff is protected. The game is to be replayed at a later yet unconfirmed date.
